She resembles to one of those crazy characters of MAD. And he is a simple man; a man-next-door types. Quite an odd couple, you know. However, they live a happy married life; since almost 12 years. When they interact, they become a laughing stock for the people around them. Same for the audience of this play.

Aashish Mehta is an architect, who is genuinely in love with his wife Dimple. So much so that he has never tried to even look at other girls. Not even his cute secretary Roma. However, Dimple is always suspicious about Aashish. She thinks that Aashish freely flirts with his secretary in his office. She talks about this to her confidante Sudha, who is her neighbour. Sudha is a dumb woman and doesn't bother much about her husband Kumar's flirtatious nature.

Dimple is so insecure about Aashish that she doesn't allow her husband to wear jeans and T-shirts. She compels him to wear old Safari suit. Forget about this one vice of Dimple, and she is a perfect housewife. She loves her husband, looks after all his needs, takes care of their 10 year old son. Aashish thinks that Dimple's suspicious nature is actually a proof of her passionate love. Poor man.

A day-dreamer, Dimple sometimes think that Aashish must be dancing on Nagin tune with his secretary, while she is waiting for him at home. She wouldn't even allow Aashish to interact with their maid Lalita.

And something happens. That turns Dimple's life upside down. She comes to know from a family friend-cum-pathologist Doctor Mankad that she has a blood cancer. She realises that god has paid her back for her suspicious nature. She takes a promise from the Doctor, who had once in college-time proposed her, that this fact should remain a secret between them. Then she starts working towards making Aashish's and her son's life easy. As both of them are dependent on her. She thinks about an alternative arrangement.

The name of that arrangement is Roma, Aashish's secretary. Dimple anyhow convinces her to get married to her husband. Roma hesitantly agrees. But she has an important question : How to convince Aashish? Dimple has a mad answer to that. She traps her husband for his own good. Or atleast she thinks so.

One night, as part of her crazy plan, Dimple calls Roma home. And she runs away after giving Aashish a cup full of Brandi. Aashish loses his senses and the chaotic situations start. He doesn't want Roma to stay at home when his wife is not around. So he calls Sudha, his neighbour and Lalita to stay in the house overnight. Unfortunately, he is misunderstood by both of them.

Next morning, Dimple accuses him of being adulterous. Aashish defends himself but all in vain. Lalita and Sudha also think that Aashish has done wrong. He is trapped. Dimple asks him to confess his adultery and get married to Roma. Finally, Roma gives a fake love-letter, which informs Aashish that Dimple has blood cancer. Aashish agrees with Dimple to get married to Roma as he wants his wife to be happy in her last days.

Full of twists and turns, the story takes new turn. When Dimple comes to know that Doctor Mankad had made a mistake and her report was wrong, she wants to stop her husband's marriage with Roma immediately. Again, her day-dreaming stops her doing that because she sees a dream of Aashish having a cardiac arrest because of her selfish attitude. And Dimple realises the meaning of that famous saying : One who digs, falls in it.
