Aa Kokila Nu Kaieeenk Karo
We all wear faces, some knowingly, some unknowingly. We all have strength within but not all can use it or display it to the real world. Sometimes its lack of confidence, sometimes belief and sometimes unawareness.
Kokila is one such girl, daughter of Bhalabhai a simple man who brought up his motherless three children with love.
Prafull the eldest son has a shop and a nagging wife whose want for a child is driving him nuts. Prafull has gone frantic as recession has affected business and wants to plan a baby only once recession is over. His wife has her own take on recession… as per her “It's a recession when your neighbor loses his job: it's a depression when you lose yours”…
Jignesh the youngest one has ideas unlimited, just like a ‘shekhchalli’, but no foundations under it, never works for it, his philosophy is “Hard works never killed anybody, but why take a chance?” Swagat feels once he lands in USA his woes will be over and he will be a big man. He is a “Dreamer”, but doing and achieving… what is that??
Kokila, a tomboy, carefree girl, not bothered about her looks, an unmarried woman lived most of her life with three men (father and two brothers) in a house. She is not beautiful, or she believes that she is not beautiful because nobody has said this to her and she is not married yet. And it’s the family’s priority to get her married.
Whole locality boys play along with Kokila as if she is one of them, a boy, and all of them scamper away from the her family as they are petrified the family will get one of them married to Kokila.
Tejas is a new entrant to the locality, a young NRI eligible bachelor straight from USA and a latest victim of the recession. He is invited by Kokila’s family for dinner and poor man unknowing to his fate readily accepts it. Kokila is presented to her as his would be bride. He is flabbergasted only looking at her, forget her tomboyish behavior or the way she is dressed. Tejas feels Kokila is dressed as if she had been poured into her clothes. Some how manages to save his skin and literally run out of the funny situation.
Whole family is shattered, they have lost faith and confidence cause of failure of all of them.
There is no hope left, and good news never comes knocking your door.
In this case it was different; there was a knock on the door, a man behind the door, Vishwas.
Vishwas wants money to solve all their problems and promises to pay double the amount back if he fails. Is he a con man, a bluff master trying to lure all in his unusual charm? Or is he the good news they have all been waiting for forever?
Vishwas slowly tries to make friends with all, he fills self confidence in rest of the family besides Kokila and they starts believing in their worth as a capable people who may do many things. They become self confident and happy inside.
But Kokila who doesn’t believe a word what Vishwas says is a tough nut to crack. Vishwas convinces her to have faith in her beautiful existence. Encouraging her to see herself through her own eyes and not as she fears others view her. He tells her "it's not good to live in your dreams," but he notes that it's not good to live outside of them, either.
He says every woman is beautiful in her own way. You just have to keep faith in your beauty. Once Kokila starts believing in herself, he takes her to a Beauty Clinic for a complete make over. He himself is stunned to see the most beautiful girl ever standing in front of him after the change and makeover in Kokila.
Kokila can not trust she herself is standing in front of a mirror. Is it a miracle? Or is it a dream, or is it the real Kokila’s realisation and confidence beaming from her face and making her look most ravishing ever.
Everything in the house has changed, so has Kokila’s life. Tejas has fallen head over heals for her and is trying his best to impress her. Kokila is enjoying the attentions she is getting; after all it’s for the first time she has been look upon as a girl, not just a girl, most gorgeous girl around.
But now there is a void in heart, her lonely heart is dying to feel the void and her dream man is Vishwas.
Will Kokila get her love, Vishwas?
Or will Tejas get to marry her dream girl?
Or will Vishwas, who can never settle down, will finally find nest to settle down in his never ending unsettled journey?
There are a lot of questions unanswered in life, but life has all the answers and it does reply to Kokila in the final moments of this hilarious but thought provoking, fantasy wrapped but real and humorously funny presentation “Aa Kokila Nu Kaieeenk Karo”
